Traditional Breakfast Casserole

Traditional Breakfast Casserole

This recipe has been passed down through the family and is a standard that is assembled the night before and popped in the oven the next morning.

4 slices of bread, remove crust
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
6 – 8 slices of raw bacon, chopped
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
3 eggs
1 cup milk
Dash of pepper

Place the bread in a 9X9 dish coated with cooking spray.  Sprinkle the cheese over the top and the bacon pieces on top of that.  In a small bowl, mix together the mustard, eggs, milk and pepper and pour over the bread layers.  Refrigerate overnight.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until the top has set and turned golden brown.  Serves 4-6
