Yuletide Bark

Yuletide Bark

Great for gift giving, this white chocolate bark is ideal for the holidays.  It is quick and easy and can be made well in advance and kept refrigerated for weeks.  The lemon extract balances out the sweetness for a unique and satisfying treat.

6 tablespoons butter
2 – 10-12 ounces bags of vanilla or white chips
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 ½ teaspoons lemon extract
1 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
1 cup dried cranberries

Line a 9 X 13 pan with foil and coat with cooking spray. In a large saucepan, melt the butter. Add the chips and milk; cook and stir till the mixture has just melted. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon extract. Add the nuts and dried cranberries.  Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and chill until set. Lift bark out of the pan by the foil, peel off the foil and break into pieces. The bark can be stored in an air tight container and refrigerated for several weeks.
