Croissant
Strata
Perfect for the Easter brunch and you can assemble it the
day before.
4 small croissants
1½ cups diced cooked ham
5 ounces shredded cheese (Swiss, Colby, cheddar)
5 eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon dry mustard
2 teaspoons honey
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Cut the croissants in half lengthwise and position in a
10-inch deep dish pie plate that has been coated with cooking spray. Top the croissants with the ham and
cheese. In a small bowl, whisk together
the eggs and milk, dry mustard, honey, salt and pepper. Pour the egg mixture over the croissants and
press the croissants down to submerge in the egg mixture. Cover and chill the strata overnight. Bake covered at 350 for 25 minutes, uncover
and bake an additional 10 minutes, or until golden brown and set. Let the
strata stand for 5 minutes before serving warm.
Serves 6 – 8.
