Sun-Dried Tomato Spread
Sun-dried tomatoes are a staple at any French market. At
home, they are packaged and sold in the same aisle with the dried fruits in
most USA
grocery stores. This tangy spread is
ideal for the upcoming holidays. It’s
simple, unique and comes together quickly. You can make it ahead of time or on
the spot and have an appetizer that everyone will enjoy.
8 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 green onions, sliced
In a mini food processor or blender, combine and blend
together all the above ingredients. Serve the spread at room temperature with
crostinis or assorted crackers. Serves 6
– 8.
Crostinis
1 French baguette
Olive Oil
Ground pepper
Cut the baguette in large pieces and freeze in a sealed
plastic bag. While frozen, slice the baguette into ¼ inch thick slices. Place
the slices on a baking sheet. Brush one side with olive oil and sprinkle pepper
on top. Bake the slices at 350 for 6 minutes, or until golden brown. The
crostinis can be stored in a paper bag for up to 2 days.
