Fettuccine Bake

Fettuccine Bake

This creamy dish is Italian restaurant quality and deeply satisfying with a crisp salad and toasted Italian bread.

8 ounces fettuccine
3 ½ tablespoons butter
3 ½ tablespoons flour
3 cups milk
8 ounces sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded
2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
1 ½ cups frozen peas

In a large sauce pan, cook the fettuccine according to package directions.  In a large skillet, melt the butter.  Stir in the flour until smooth and gradually add the milk, stirring constantly.  Bring the mixture to a boil and cook and stir for 3 minutes or until thickened.  Stir in the cheese and cook until melted.  Stir in the ham, cooked fettuccine and peas.  Transfer the mixture to an 11 X 7 baking dish that has been mist with cooking spray.  Cover and bake at 350 for 20 minutes, remove the cover and bake an additional 5 minutes, until bubbly.  Let the fettuccine sit for 5 minutes before serving. Serves 6
