Stromboli for March Madness

Stromboli

Using the refrigerated French bread makes this recipe easy and delicious.  You can use any deli meat you prefer.  In our house, thinly sliced roast beef is a favorite, along with smoked turkey.  This recipe lends itself to a variety of possibilities.

1-11ounces tube French bread
1/2 cup diced veggies (bell peppers, onions, zucchini, yellow squash, etc)
1 cup shredded cheese
1/3 pound deli meats
1 teaspoon olive oil
2 tablespoons sesame seeds or poppy seeds or both

Roll out the French loaf dough onto parchment paper.  On top of the dough, spread the veggies and cheese, and top that with the deli meats. Roll the Stromboli from the longest length to form a 3-inch-round loaf.  Brush the roll with olive oil and sprinkle the top with seeds. Using the parchment paper, lift the roll on to a baking sheet.  Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.  Cool for 10 minutes and slice into serving pieces, approximately 10 slices.
